Shutter Island ***1/2 out of *****

Leaving the theater I was left with the feeling that I was expecting more, but going back, this movie makes you think. Not about science or something life changing, but just about the movie itself. There are a lot of little clever things they put in now that I’m going back and thinking about it. Some things that I picked up on which led to my correct mid movie conclusion of what was going to happen. The company I was with didn’t realize this conclusion until it was revealed to them at the end. Also, thinking back this movie actually made me scared for a second…..which is quite rare for me. So I have to give it props for that. I would of given it 4 stars if I didn’t leave the film expecting more. So I guess the initial review is 3 1/2 and after thinking about the film it’s actually a 4 star film, but I’m sticken with the 3 1/2. Was it worth the money in these 10 dollar movied days? EEEhhhhhh it’s a tough one to call, I would say no, but it would be hard to replicate some scenes on a regular television. For instance, the scene I got scared in probably wouldn’t of happen in a home environment, but with a nice LCD and a good sound set up you could come close. So, if you have a good home theater set up, you probably want to wait till this goes on DVD, but if not, $10 is not so bad to mess with your mind if theres nothing else to do.
